Share Her Annual Real Expenses

Sept. 07 Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital (GSCNC) ~
Annual "Share Her Annual Real Expenses" (SHARE)
Troop Programs Fund Raising Campaign
SHARE Goal/Factoids:

Last Year we raised $2,657 (of $3400) or 78% (only $743 from goal, not bad). Every bit helps so this is still a significant contribution/effort by our families to the world of scouting! Thanks so much!!

This year our goal is again $3,400, and we hope to meet it by everyone participating at what ever level you can. Sometimes Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents or friends are looking for a way to support your scout, they can contribute on behalf of your scout! Also some companies will match your contribution dollar for dollar. There is a list in your troop SU instruction booklet. Our SU has met goal several years previously, lets do it again this year!

If you have already been SHARE trained from a previous year you can pick up your SHARE envelop at my house today (address below, Sunday, 9/16 until 8 pm or at the next SU meeting on 10/11). All troops please read the message below and SHARE it with your troop families!

SU 80-9 SHARE Message:

Welcome to another year of scouting!!!! Due to SHARE no girl has to miss girl scouting due to financial limitations. GSCNC will support those girls who need financial aid assistance while at the same time providing subsidized programs for all scouts, their leaders, and their families. Read this Email to your troop parents and relatives to help you in explaining what SHARE provides ~~
to and for your girl scout(s)!!

TROOP SUPPORT: If you are a Daisy troop (K) and just starting out SHARE helps support the team to get you started and to provide you beginner opportunities tailored for young audiences/scouts. If you are a Brownie troop (1st to 3rd grade) first to third year there are subsidized activities for you to do as a troop in Mosaics such as local plays in Alexandria a dinner theater and aquarium and zoo safari days. If you are a Junior troop (4th to 6th grade) there are more challenging activities for early teens such as camping, badge programs, and other activities to get you ready for being a leader in your community including a Bronze award. If you are a Cadette (7th to 9th grade unless you bridge up early via Silver Award) there are even more challenging activities such as trips, overnight camping, hiking, water activities, career day, Silver award and much more. If you are a Senior (10th to 12th grade unless you bridged early from Cadettes via Silver award), there are activities to hone your leadership and senior teen outdoor and career skills getting you ready to lead beyond the troop and if its your choice when pursuing the college experience.

ADULTS: Also for the leaders and families that support you from Daisies to Brownies there is Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital (GSCNC) free and subsidized training from First Aid/CPR necessary for all troops (at least one adult unless precertified from Red Cross etc), camping certification (brownie troops and up), travel training (to go beyond 50 miles from your troop meeting location), and other fun activity trainings including a Leaderfest every year in January for all troop leaders and their families as well as many other craft to outdoor to leadership training available on line at GSCNC.org (click on Training and just surf around and see all the other support/opportunities available due to SHARE and volunteerism).
