80-9 Calendars
2007
Sale dates: October 22 to December 22,
2007
Or while supplies last
|
The
Calendar Sale is a tradition at the Girl Scout Council of
the Nation's Capital — a tradition that developed because
troops needed a way to earn important start up funds for
activities. Troops that participate say it is easy, quick,
profitable and extremely flexible. For more info, check
out Council's
webpage on the Calendar Sale.

1) Take orders. Collect money at that time.
2) Contact the depot with order for pickup. You can get a list
of all VA/DC/MD depots either on the GSCNC
website, or by contacting Gwen.
3) Pick up the calendars, make sure you also pick up your receipt,
your deposit slip to the bank you prefer, and an envelope for
GSCNC.
4) Deposit money owed to GSCNC into their account USING THE
DEPOSIT SLIP MARKED CALENDARS within 2 weeks. MAKE SURE YOU
FILL IN ALL BOXES WITH INFO. You can deposit all checks given
by purchasers, or you can deposit them in your troop account
then write a check from troop account. GSCNC prefers you deposit
it in their account because they will be able to collect money
from returned checks, it is more difficult for your troop to
do this. Make sure to deposit $1.50 per calendar sold into your
troop account. If you deposit more then is due into the GSCNC
account, you will get a refund but "not for a long time".
5) While at the bank, check that they have dated and marked
the correct amount of deposit on the receipts.
6) Mail the PINK form to GSCNC ASAP. Keep the blue portion for
your records.
7) IMPORTANT NOTE: if you do NOT deposit calendar funds, you
will NOT be able to sell cookies - a MUCH bigger fundraiser.
8) In past years we have run out of calendars. Make sure not
to wait too long, they may be all gone. |
BOOTH
INFO:
1) Contact the store to set up a time/date.
2) Contact the depot, and make sure they understand this order
is for booth sales. Be prepared to tell her where and when the
booth sale will be. You generally have a very short amount of
time to return them (Rene' requests the next depot day). CALENDARS
MUST BE IN PERFECT CONDITION TO RETURN THEM.
3) Make sure to bring a donation can with you, often you can
get more from donations then sales of calendars. I picked up
the following: 20 pocket planners (did not sell well), 15 wall
calendars, 10 day planners. We sold less then 1/2 of these.
BE ENTHUSIASTIC, but not obnoxious.
4) Bring the left over items back ASAP and get a receipt for
what you sold. Follow directions above for depositing money....
5) You can advertise on the SU 80-9 website, in case others
are in need of calendars - especially near the end of the sale.
